Step by step
- 1
Get the file from UniCredit
In Banca via Internet open Conti (or Carte), click the search icon, set the period and download the list as Excel — or open Documenti for the PDF estratto conto.
- 2
Upload it
Drop the Excel list or the PDFs, several years at once. Excel uploads use no pages.
- 3
Check and review
Every row gets a clean payee and a category, and each statement is checked: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance.
- 4
Export
Download Excel, CSV (semicolons and DD/MM/YYYY if you like), QuickBooks Online or Xero CSV, .qbo, OFX or QIF.
How to download UniCredit movements and statements
In Banca via Internet (the website), your accounts are under Conti in the i tuoi prodotti (your products) area of the homepage. Open an account and click the search icon (icona di ricerca) above the movement list. You can search by keyword (parola chiave), date range (intervallo temporale) or amount (importo), going back up to 5 years, and share or download the whole list — search results included — as PDF or Excel.
Cards work the same way under Carte: the same search reaches back 5 years and the list downloads as PDF or Excel. Official documents are in Documenti, a box at the top of the screen after you log in. It is grouped into in primo piano (everything from the last 6 months), conti (accounts), carte (cards) and altro (other), with a ricerca avanzata (advanced search) for a specific document.
In the UniCredit app, Conti and Carte show balances and movements with a Cerca (search) function, and Documenti holds the same documents as the website, including Estratti Conto. UniCredit's guide describes the PDF/Excel list download for Banca via Internet, so use a computer when you need the file. Source: UniCredit Banca Multicanale service guide.

UniCredit's personal online banking documents PDF and Excel downloads only. We don't read CBI files, so business users should upload the Excel list or the PDF statements instead.
When you still need to convert the PDF
The PDF estratto conto is still the file to convert when:
- You need history beyond the 5-year search, or the account is closed and the PDFs you saved are all you have.
- A client, tenant or borrower sends you PDF statements instead of an export from their online banking.
- You need the official record: the estratto conto states the opening and closing balance for the period, which is what lets the balance check prove nothing is missing.
- You want card purchases itemized. A credit card's monthly total usually reaches the current account as a single debit; the card's own estratto conto lists each purchase. See credit card statements to Excel.
UniCredit statement quirks to know
- Italian number format: amounts are written 1.234,56 — dot for thousands, comma for decimals. English-language Excel misreads them; our export gives real numbers.
- DD/MM/YYYY dates: 03/04/2026 is 3 April. US-format spreadsheets read it as 4 March, or not as a date at all.
- Two dates per row: Italian statements show the booking date (data contabile) and the value date (data valuta), the date from which interest counts. Match your books on one of them consistently.
- Debit and credit columns: money out and money in usually sit in separate columns (dare/addebiti and avere/accrediti) rather than carrying a minus sign. The export puts them in one Amount column: negative out, positive in.
- Period-end charges: fees (competenze), interest and stamp duty (imposta di bollo) are typically booked at the end of the statement period as their own lines, so they show up as separate bank-fee and tax rows.
- The scalare is not a movement list: the estratto conto scalare lists balances by value date to work out interest. Upload the estratto conto itself.
Convert UniCredit statements to Excel, CSV or accounting software
Upload the Excel list or the PDFs together. Each transaction gets a clean payee name instead of the raw POS, SEPA or SDD text and a category from your list; changing a category can become a rule for future statements.
Every PDF statement is checked against its own numbers: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance, and the running balance is checked on every row where one is printed. Rows that don't add up are flagged with their page number, and a statement that doesn't balance is free (up to 30 pages a month).
- Excel: a Transactions sheet with real dates and numbers, plus a Summary sheet by category and month
- CSV with semicolons and DD/MM/YYYY dates for Italian Excel, or for accounting software that imports bank movements from CSV
- QuickBooks Online CSV, Xero CSV, a .qbo file, OFX or QIF when the books are kept in another country
For expats and accountants abroad
Categories come in your account's language, so an Italian statement can be categorized in English while the Italian description stays alongside. Upload the current account and card statements at once and export them as one file limited to a date range, such as a tax year.
