Convert Intesa Sanpaolo statements to Excel

Intesa Sanpaolo lets you download account movements as Excel or PDF for the last 13 months. Anything older is in the PDF estratti conto in Archivio (up to 10 years back): upload those here and get one balance-checked Excel or CSV file.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Download from Intesa Sanpaolo

For the last 13 months, set the Periodo filter on the movement list and use Scarica PDF / Excel. For older periods, open Archivio → Documenti and download the estratti conto as PDF.

  2. 2

    Upload the files

Drop the Excel file (it uses no pages) or the PDFs — a whole folder of statements at once. Scans and photos of paper statements work too.

  3. 3

    Check the balance

Each statement is checked: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance. Rows that don't add up are flagged with their page number.

  4. 4

    Export

Choose Excel, CSV, QuickBooks Online or Xero CSV, .qbo, OFX or QIF — combined into one file and limited to the dates you need.

How to download Intesa Sanpaolo movements and statements

Movement list (web and app). The account's movement list shows the latest entries; select Visualizza Altri (show more) for earlier ones. The Periodo (period) filter searches up to 13 months back — via Ricerca Avanzata (advanced search) on internet banking, or the funnel icon in the Intesa Sanpaolo Mobile app. The Scarica PDF / Excel command downloads the list in either format, on the website and in the app.

Official statements. If you've switched on online documents, your estratti conto arrive in Archivio → Documenti on internet banking (under La mia situazione) and in Archivio (Documenti e Pagamenti) in the app. The Periodo/anni precedenti filter searches documents from the last 10 years, and Ricerca avanzata also lists closed (estinti) accounts and cards so you can find their documents. Why the 13-month limit matters

The 13-month window is the main reason people convert Intesa Sanpaolo PDFs. A tax return, a mortgage application or catching up a client's books usually needs a full calendar year or more, and once the window has moved on, the estratti conto are the only complete record.

You also need the PDF when:

  • The movements are older than 13 months — the estratti conto in Archivio go back 10 years.
  • A client or borrower sends you PDF statements rather than an export.
  • You're reconciling to the official record. The online list can include movements marked Non contabilizzato: authorized, already reducing the available balance, but not yet booked. A statement lists booked movements with an opening and closing balance, so it can be checked.
  • You only have paper copies — see scanned bank statements to Excel.

Intesa Sanpaolo statement quirks

  • Two dates: in the online list, the first, darker date is the booking date (data contabile) and the second is the value date (data valuta). Statements usually print both; choose one consistently when you match transactions to your books.
  • Italian formats: 1.234,56 for amounts and DD/MM/YYYY for dates. Opened in a US-format Excel, 05/06/2026 becomes 6 May instead of 5 June.
  • Separate debit and credit columns: money out and money in usually appear in their own columns (addebiti/dare and accrediti/avere). The export merges them into one signed Amount column, negative for money out.
  • Where the transactions are: in the estratto conto they sit in the Dettaglio movimenti del conto corrente section. The box right after it shows the previous year's average balance (giacenza media) for ISEE — a summary figure, not a movement.
  • Period-end lines: fees, interest and stamp duty (imposta di bollo) are typically booked at the close of the statement period as separate lines.

Convert Intesa Sanpaolo statements to Excel or CSV

Upload the PDFs and any Excel lists together. Each transaction gets a clean payee name in place of the long POS or bonifico text, and a category from your list; the full Italian description is kept beside it. Categories are in your account's language, so an expat or a foreign accountant can work in English.

Every PDF statement is checked against its own totals, and the running balance is checked on every row where one is printed. Misread signs are fixed from the running balance and duplicate rows at page breaks are removed. A statement that doesn't balance is free (up to 30 pages a month).

  • Excel with a Transactions sheet and a Summary sheet by category and month
  • CSV with semicolons and DD/MM/YYYY dates for Italian spreadsheets, or for any accounting software that imports bank movements from CSV
  • QuickBooks Online CSV, Xero CSV, .qbo, OFX or QIF for books kept abroad

Combine the Excel export with older PDFs

A common job is a full year that straddles the 13-month window: recent months as an Excel export, earlier months as PDF statements. Upload both, then export them as one file limited to the date range you need. Make sure the Excel period and the PDF periods don't overlap — overlapping months would appear twice.
