Convert ING Germany Kontoauszüge to Excel and CSV
ING Deutschland's online banking shows and exports only the last 390 days of transactions. Anything older is only in the PDF Kontoauszüge in your Post-Box: upload them and get one Excel or CSV file, categorized and checked against each statement's balances.

Step by step
- 1
Export the last 390 days
Log in, open the account under Meine Konten (my accounts) to reach the Umsatzanzeige (transaction list), set the period, and click Exportieren (export) at the bottom of the page.
- 2
Download older statements
Open the Post-Box — in the app it's under Service in the bottom menu — use Filter to choose a period, and save the PDF Kontoauszüge.
- 3
Upload everything
Drop the CSV and the PDFs in together. The CSV uses no pages; each PDF page with transactions counts as one page.
- 4
Check and export
Each statement is balance-checked. Then download one Excel or CSV file, or a QuickBooks, Xero, OFX or QIF file.
How to download ING Germany transactions and statements
ING Deutschland (legally ING-DiBa AG, which is why many people still say ING-DiBa) gives you two different things, and it helps to know which one you're looking at:
Both steps are described in ING's banking help pages and Post-Box help.
- The Umsatzanzeige (transaction list) is live and searchable. In online banking you can filter by period and click Exportieren to save the balance and transactions as a file. It reaches back up to 390 days.
- The Kontoauszug (account statement) is a monthly PDF delivered to the Post-Box, together with periodic Rechnungsabschlüsse (account closing statements for fees and interest). In the Post-Box or its Archiv, click Filter, enter a period and choose Filter anwenden (apply filter) to list them.
The 390-day limit in practice
390 days is a little more than a year, which sounds like enough until you need a full calendar year. To export all of 2025 as a CSV, you have to do it before roughly the end of January 2026; after that, the first days of January have already dropped out of the Umsatzanzeige.
So for a German tax return filed in summer, a year-end review with your accountant or anything else that needs more than about 13 months of history, the CSV won't cover it. The PDF statements will.
| Source | What it is | How far back | With us |
|---|---|---|---|
| Umsatzanzeige → Exportieren | CSV of all bookings in a period | Up to 390 days | Upload directly — uses no pages |
| Kontoauszug (PDF) | Official monthly statement | In the Post-Box; account documents can be deleted after 10 years | Converted (1 page per PDF page with transactions) |
| Rechnungsabschluss (PDF) | Fee and interest statement | In the Post-Box | Usually not needed; the amounts are booked on the account |
| Final statement after closing | Sent by post | — | Photo or scan, then converted |
Save your PDFs before closing an ING account
If the account you're closing is your only ING account with online banking access, you lose access to the Post-Box once it's deleted. ING sends the final statement (Abschlusskontoauszug) by post, but the earlier PDFs are gone from your reach, so download them first.
ING also tidies up the Post-Box itself: account documents become deletable after 10 years, and ING says it announces automatic deletions a year in advance. If you need statements long term, keep your own copies — and a converted Excel file next to them makes the history searchable.
ING's account closure help recommends saving or printing all documents, such as Kontoauszüge, before closing.
ING statement quirks to know
- German formats: amounts like 1.234,56 and dates as DD.MM.YYYY. Our exports turn them into real numbers and real dates, whatever language your spreadsheet uses.
- Booking and value date: each line has a booking date (Buchung) and a value date (Valuta). The booking date is used for the transaction; the full text is kept.
- Several accounts: a Girokonto and an Extra-Konto (savings) have separate statements. A PDF covering more than one account is split into one statement per account.
- Card payments in other currencies: the description usually carries the original amount and exchange rate. The transaction gets a clean payee name and its euro amount from the statement.
- Long SEPA references: mandate references, creditor IDs and end-to-end references fill the description; the payee name is pulled out so you can sort and filter by it.
Convert ING Germany statements to Excel, CSV or accounting files
Upload a year of PDF Kontoauszüge, the CSV for recent months, or both. Every statement is checked against its own balances — previous balance plus credits minus debits must equal the new balance — and the running balance is checked on every row, so a missed line shows up instead of slipping into your books.
Export to Excel with a Summary sheet by category and month, or to CSV with semicolons and DD.MM.YYYY dates for German bookkeeping tools that import bank CSV files. QuickBooks Online CSV, Xero CSV, .qbo, OFX and QIF cover accountants outside Germany. If your final statement arrived on paper, a phone photo works too — see scanned statements to Excel.
If you also bank with a Sparkasse, its exports work differently: see Sparkasse statements to Excel, or browse other banks.
Questions
How far back can I export ING Germany transactions?
Online banking shows and exports up to 390 days. For anything older, use the monthly PDF Kontoauszüge in the Post-Box.
How do I convert ING PDF Kontoauszüge older than 390 days to Excel?
Download them from the Post-Box, upload them all at once and export one Excel file. Each statement is balance-checked, and rows that don't add up are flagged with their page number.
Can I still get my statements after closing my ING account?
If it was your only ING account with online banking, the Post-Box is no longer accessible after closure, so save the PDFs first. The final statement is sent by post; a photo of it can be converted too.
Does the ING CSV export use pages?
No. CSV uploads use no pages, though you need a plan or page pack. Only PDF pages and photos with transactions are counted — see pricing.
Is it safe to upload my ING statements?
Uploaded files are processed in memory and never stored, and we never connect to your bank. See our security page.
