Step by step
- 1
Get the statement
In the personal Internet Şubesi, open Hesaplarım → Vadesiz Hesaplarım → Ekstreler (My accounts → Demand accounts → Statements). For a credit card: Kartlarım → Kredi Kartlarım → Ekstre. If there's no download button, your browser's Print → Save as PDF works.
- 2
Upload it
Drop in the PDF, a scan or phone photo of a branch printout, or an MT940 file. Several months or accounts can go in at once.
- 3
Check the result
Every transaction is extracted, gets a clean payee and a category, and the statement is checked: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance.
- 4
Export
Download Excel, or CSV with a semicolon and DD.MM.YYYY dates for Turkish Excel — or OFX, QIF, QuickBooks or Xero files.
Where to find Ziraat statements online
Ziraat's personal internet branch groups statements by product. The menu, as listed on Ziraat's Bireysel İnternet Şubesi page, puts them here:
- Hesaplarım → Vadesiz Hesaplarım → Ekstreler — statements for current (demand) accounts
- Kartlarım → Kredi Kartlarım → Ekstre and Kart Hareketleri — credit card statements and card transactions
- Hesaplarım → Yatırım Hesaplarım → Ekstre Görüntüleme — investment account statements
- Profil ve Ayarlar → Tercihlerim → Mevduat Hesap Ekstresi — the setting for deposit account statements; card statements have their own Kart Ayarları → Ekstre Tercihi
Para Transferleri → Son 20 Transfer lists only your last 20 transfers. It isn't a statement and won't balance — use Ekstreler instead.
Ekstre, hesap hareketleri, dekont: which one you need
Turkish banking uses three words that are easy to mix up. Hesap hareketleri (account movements) is the on-screen list of transactions. Ekstre or hesap özeti is the statement for a period, with opening and closing balances. Dekont is a receipt for one single transaction.
For bookkeeping, a tax return or a loan file, use the ekstre: it's the only one with the balances needed to prove nothing is missing. Ziraat doesn't publicly document an Excel export for personal accounts, so if your screen offers one, upload that file; otherwise save the ekstre as a PDF and convert it.
MT940 files for business customers
Corporate customers can get account movements as MT940 text statements through Ziraat's Hesap Hareketleri Entegrasyonu service, applied for at a branch. Ziraat sends them by e-mail, FTP, SFTP or SWIFT message, or through a web service, hourly, daily, weekly or monthly.
Upload MT940 files as they arrive, even if they're named .txt: each transaction becomes a row, with the details from the :86: field as its description, and they use no pages. See how to convert MT940 to Excel.
Ziraat also sends MT942 (intraday) reports. We don't read MT942 — use the end-of-day MT940 for your books.
When you still need to convert a PDF or scan
- Personal accounts, which don't get MT940: the PDF ekstre is the practical source for Excel.
- Stamped branch printouts (hesap dökümü) for a visa, loan or court file: scan or photograph them — JPG or PNG up to about 3.5 MB per photo. See scanned bank statements to Excel.
- Statements from clients. Accountants usually receive PDFs from several banks; all of them go through the same way.
- Credit card ekstre with installments (taksit) and card fees: see credit card statements to Excel.
Ziraat statement quirks
- Turkish number format. Amounts look like 1.234,56 TL — a dot for thousands and a comma for decimals. They become real numbers, not text.
- Dates as DD.MM.YYYY. 05.03.2026 is 5 March, not May 3 — dates are read the Turkish way and exported in the format you choose.
- Debit and credit. Turkish statements often split money out and in as Borç and Alacak, or show one signed amount next to a Bakiye (balance) column. Either way you get one signed Amount column, and where a running balance is printed it's checked on every row.
- Foreign-currency accounts. USD and EUR accounts have their own statements. If one PDF holds several accounts or currencies, each becomes its own statement, so lira and dollar amounts never mix.
- Gold accounts (Altın Hesabı) are kept in grams of gold rather than lira, so convert them separately from cash accounts.
- Turkish characters. PDFs keep ı, ş and ğ intact. If a CSV you upload shows broken Turkish letters, open it in Excel and save it as CSV UTF-8 first.
Convert Ziraat statements to Excel or CSV
Opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the closing balance. If it doesn't, the rows to look at are flagged with their page number, and that statement uses no pages. Transfers and card payments get a clean payee name and a category you can rename.
Export to Excel with a Summary sheet by category and month, or to CSV — choose a semicolon and DD.MM.YYYY so Turkish Excel opens it correctly, then import it into your accounting software if it accepts spreadsheet imports. Several months or accounts can be merged into one file.
Questions
Can I export Ziraat Bankası account movements to Excel?
Ziraat doesn't publicly document an Excel export for personal accounts. If your Internet Şubesi offers a download, upload that file directly; otherwise save the ekstre as a PDF and convert it here.
How do I convert a Ziraat PDF ekstre to Excel?
Download or print the ekstre from Hesaplarım → Vadesiz Hesaplarım → Ekstreler as a PDF, upload it, and choose Export → Excel. The balance check confirms every transaction was captured.
Can you read Ziraat MT940 files?
Yes. MT940 files use no pages and convert straight to Excel or CSV. MT942 intraday reports aren't supported.
Does it work with a stamped statement from a Ziraat branch?
Yes. Scan it or take a clear phone photo; printed statements are read like PDFs. Handwritten notes aren't read.
Is it safe to upload my statements?
Files are processed in memory and never stored, and we never ask for your bank login. See security.
