Convert Crédit Agricole statements to Excel

Crédit Agricole lets you download the last 12 months of operations as Excel, CSV or OFX. Anything older exists only in your PDF e-relevés (kept online for 10 years) — upload those here and get a balance-checked Excel, CSV or OFX file for any period.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Download the e-relevés

On your Caisse régionale's website, open Mes documents → Consulter mes e-documents (My documents → View my e-documents) and click the PDF icon next to each statement. In the Ma Banque app, go to Menu → Mes documents.

  2. 2

    Upload them

Drop in one PDF or several years at once. Scanned paper relevés and phone photos work too. For the last 12 months you can upload the Excel, CSV or OFX operations file instead — those use no pages.

  3. 3

    Check the result

Every transaction gets a clean payee and a category, and each statement is checked: opening balance + credits − debits must equal the closing balance.

  4. 4

    Export

Download Excel, CSV (semicolon and DD/MM/YYYY if you want French formats), OFX, QIF or a QuickBooks or Xero file.

How to download Crédit Agricole statements and operations

Crédit Agricole is 39 regional banks (Caisses régionales) that share credit-agricole.fr, but each Caisse runs its own online banking space, so the exact layout and pricing differ slightly. The menu names below are the national ones.

There are two different things to download, and they cover different periods:

  • Official statements (e-relevés): on the website, Mes documents → Consulter mes e-documents, then the green PDF icon next to the statement. In the Ma Banque app: Menu → Mes documents. Crédit Agricole explains the service on its e-Documents page.
  • Operations file: from your account's list of operations (Mes opérations), use Télécharger mes opérations (Download my operations) and choose Excel, CSV or OFX. Crédit Agricole's video tutorials "Télécharger l'historique de vos opérations" and "Personnaliser le format de téléchargement" show where your Caisse puts the button and how to change the default format.

The e-Documents service itself is free, but access to Crédit Agricole en Ligne may be billed by your Caisse régionale.

Which formats Crédit Agricole offers (and how far back)

If the period you need is inside the last 12 months, the Excel, CSV or OFX download is the quickest route: upload it as is to get payees, categories and a clean export. See how to convert bank statements to CSV and bank statements to OFX.

When you still need to convert the PDF

  • Older than 12 months. A tax check, a business year-end or a loan file often needs two or three years. Past the 12-month window, the e-relevés are the only digital record.
  • Before closing an account. e-Documents can't be reached once the account is closed. Download every PDF first — afterwards you have to ask your Caisse for copies.
  • Statements from clients. Accountants and bookkeepers usually receive PDFs, not exports. See statement conversion for accountants.
  • Paper relevés from before you switched to e-documents: scans and phone photos are read like PDFs (JPG or PNG, up to about 3.5 MB each).
  • Card statements. With a deferred-debit card, purchases can appear as one monthly total on the account statement, with the detail on a separate card statement. Convert that one too: credit card statements to Excel.

Crédit Agricole statement quirks

French statements follow conventions that trip up copy-and-paste and generic PDF tools. These are handled automatically:

  • French number format. Amounts are written like 1 234,56 — a space between thousands and a comma for decimals. They become real numbers in Excel, not text.
  • Separate Débit and Crédit columns instead of a signed amount. We turn them into one signed amount: negative for money out, positive for money in.
  • Operation date and value date (date de valeur), often printed without the year. The year is taken from the statement period.
  • Ancien solde and Nouveau solde (previous and new balance) at the top and bottom, often with no running balance on each line. The balance check is built on those two figures.
  • Multi-line descriptions (libellés). A card payment or transfer can span two or three lines. They're joined into one description, and a clean payee name is pulled out of it.
  • Several accounts in one PDF. If a document covers, say, a current account and a Livret A, each account becomes its own statement.

Convert Crédit Agricole statements to Excel, CSV or OFX

Every statement is checked against its own numbers: opening balance plus credits minus debits must equal the closing balance, and wherever a running balance is printed it's checked on every row. Rows that don't add up are flagged with their page number, and a statement that doesn't balance uses no pages.

Then export what you need:

  • Excel with a Transactions sheet and a Summary sheet by category and month
  • CSV with a semicolon and DD/MM/YYYY dates, so French Excel opens it correctly
  • OFX for accounting and budgeting tools that import OFX files, or QIF for Quicken
  • QuickBooks Online CSV, a .qbo file for QuickBooks Desktop, or Xero's statement CSV

Select several statements to merge them into one export in date order — for example 24 monthly e-relevés — optionally limited to a date range.

Questions

How far back can I download Crédit Agricole transactions?

The Excel, CSV and OFX download covers the last 12 months. PDF e-relevés stay in Mes documents for 10 years, as long as the account is open.

How do I convert Crédit Agricole e-relevés older than 12 months?

Download the PDFs from Mes documents → Consulter mes e-documents, upload them here, and export to Excel, CSV or OFX. Each statement is balance-checked so you can see nothing was missed.

Can I still get my statements after closing the account?

Not through e-Documents — online access ends when the account is closed. Download the PDFs before you close it; after that, ask your Caisse régionale for copies.

Does the Excel or OFX download use pages?

No. Excel, CSV and OFX files use no pages (you need a plan or a page pack). Only PDF pages and photos with transactions are counted — see pricing.

Is it safe to upload my relevés?

The uploaded file is processed in memory and never stored, and we never ask for your bank login. Details are on our security page.

Your next statement takes seconds.
